REQUIREMENTS / VACCINATIONS

There are some things that we require in order to board at our facility. These are not only for compliance with our membership in Pet Care Services Associations (formerly A.B.K.A.) but are for the safety and well being of all felines in our care.

These are the up to date vaccinations that we require with proof from your veterinarian:

Rabies (3 year vaccine)

FVRCP ( Respiratory/Distemper - annual vaccine)

Feline Leukemia is not required since no cat is allowed to be in contact with another cat while out of condo and in play areas, the transmission of this disease requires intimate contact. Only one cat is allowed out at a time in the play area. This is strictly enforced, however an exception will be made for multiple cats that live together, have no disease and are compatible with one another.
All immunizations must be completed at least two weeks prior to boarding to insure that there are no side effects.

Only proof from your veterinarian will be accepted, we cannot accept owner vaccinated cats in our facility.

SPAY / NEUTER

All cats over six months of age must be spayed or neutered.

TRANSPORT CARRIERS

All cats must arrive in a safe, closed, and adequately sized carrier which must be left at our facility for transport back home by you or in the unlikely event of an emergency to the veterinary hospital. The carrier must have your name and the cat's name on it. We will be happy to furnish the label for the names if you need one.

Remove collars and attach them to the handle of the carrier and you can put it back on your cat prior to transport home.

PRE-BOARDING EXAMINATION

We will check each cat for fleas, signs of illness and/or any reason that would require attention before boarding. We will offer to give a flea bath at a reasonable price if fleas are present and illness issues must be discussed as to whether it is controlled by medication and is not communicable through the air. We can give oral medications, but do not give injections. There is a small fee for adminstering medicine.
All medicine must be properly labeled and in the orginal container. If it is prescription, it must have the vet's name and phone number and clear, readable directions and dosage for your cat. Medicines must be in a sealable, baggie type container and labeled with owner's and cat's names.

BOARDING AGREEMENT

Further details are contained in the boarding agreement , which is a contract between Pawz with Us and the cat owner (minimum of 18 years of age). This agreement between the parties involved can be printed out from our site, faxed or forwarded via e-mail prior to boarding so you can fill it our and bring it in when dropping off your cat at our facility.  It must be signed and initialed where indicated prior to boarding and serves the interests of all parties including your cat for his/her safe, happy and healthy stay at our facility.

CHECK IN - CHECK OUT

Our hours are by appointment and generally between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. with other hours by prior agreement.

Check In time is 12 NOON through 6 P.M. with hours available before this time with an additional fee.  A full day boarding fee is charged regardless of check in time the first day and no boarding fee is charged if pick up is made by 12 Noon (Check Out time) on the last day of boarding.

After 12 Noon on the last day of boarding, a charge of $10.00 is billed up until 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. a full nights fee is billed and you then have the option of picking up your cat by 12 Noon (Check Out time) the next day.

We are closed on Sundays and Major Holidays. If we can be available on one of those days and arrangements are made in advance for Check In or Check Out on those days, there is an additional fee of $10 added to whatever regular fees apply to that day.

WHAT TO BRING

You are welcome to bring some limited amount items which are familiar to the cat and may have the owner's scent, i.e. a t-shirt, small towel or the like. These items must be labeled for return later and in good enough condition so the cat cannot swallow parts of the item and otherwise be endangered. One or two favorite toys  in good condition are o.k. but , of course, it is subject to wear and tear and we cannot be responsible for it's condition at pick up time.

FOOD

It is important, as you know, to maintain a consistent diet for your cat, especially at times of adjustment to new surroundings. It is better to bring your cat's normal food  for his/her comfort & health.
Food from home must be in a resealable tight container and labeled by type and have your name and the cat's name on it.
If this cannot be done, then we will provide a premium quality food for your cat, but you must let us know if your cat eats wet or dry food or some combination of those and if there are things that you cat is allergic to or dislikes.

CAT PERSONALITIES AND LIKES/DISLIKES

It is important to inform us of your cat's likes/dislikes. For instance,
some cat's like to be petted in some ways but not others. If your cat is sensitive about this , let us know where the "no go" zones are if there are any areas of previous injury or special handling that we should employ for your cat's comfort. Cat's that have extreme behaviour or fear issues may not be accepted unless it is temporary and then adjusts to being calmer prior to boarding.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

We must have your vet's phone number, location and paperwork from the vet indicating your cat's indentification so medical records and history can be accessed by his/her vet. We will make all reasonable efforts to use your vet, unless they are not available soon enough to attempt necessary medical aid for your cat. We will use the services of the nearest available animal emergency hospital to get medical aid for them. We will, of course, render any immediate aid that we are qualified to give while seeking medical help.

The agreement will spell out the terms of what we are able to do, how it is to be paid for, the limits of expenditure on aid which are decided by the cat's owner in advance and the agreements if any with the cat owner's veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian which may be required to insure prompt medical attention for your cat.
